Grier, former schools chief, offered new job

Terry Grier, who served from 2000 to 2008 as the superintendent of Guilford County Schools, is headed to a similar job in Houston.
Grier left Guilford in March 2008 to oversee the San Diego Unified School District.
The Houston Chronicle reported this afternoon that its school board voted unanimously to name Grier as its next superintendent.
