Wake Forest's Riley Skinner, North Carolina's T.J. Yates, N.C. State's Russell Wilson, Duke's Thaddeus Lewis and Appalachian State's Armanti Edwards have been named to the Manning Award watch list, presented annually to the nation's top quarterback. Edwards is the first quarterback from an FCS team (formerly I-AA) to be named to the list.

CLEMSON: Redshirt freshman Kyle Parker will be the starting quarterback when Clemson opens the season against Middle Tennessee State next month. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney selected Parker as the starter after Monday morning's practice. Swinney says redshirt sophomore Willy Korn will play in every game this year.

MIAMI: Miami defensive end Adewale Ojomo could miss the Hurricanes' Sept. 7 season-opener at Florida State with an undisclosed injury. Ojomo got hurt "horsing around in the locker room with a couple players" Sunday, according to Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon.
