The Sedalia Town Council voted unanimously Aug. 3 to reappoint Marie Martin as an alternate planning board member.

Martin’s term expired in February, and there was some confusion as to whether she wished to remain on the board in an alternate capacity.

“At this time, we have a little more information,” Mayor Howard J. Morgan said. “I’d hate to see her on the sideline when we can use her.”

The council agreed. Martin’s reappointment leaves open two alternate positions.

Residents interested in serving in that capacity should contact a planning board or council member or call Town Hall.

The council also discussed:

  • A presentation for residents on the benefit of having a community watch program, to be given at Town Hall.
  • The presentation has been tentatively set for Sept. 14. The council will meet on the second Monday in September because of the Labor Day holiday.
  • Town Council candidates will give their campaign speeches during the Oct. 5 meeting.
