National Night Out, the annual community partnership with emergency to raise crime and drug awareness, was a hit in neighborhoods across the Triad according to residents.

Here are some comments about last night’s events:

“Here in the Aycock Neighborhood we had a great summer Carnival, with
hot dogs, dessert, and cotton candy.
“The kids jumped in the inflatable and blew bubbles while the rest of us listened to the folk act Mystkdog.
“Plenty of police officers, including Chief Bellamy, took time to listen to neighbors and introduce themselves. Special thanks
to Interim City Manager Bob Morgan for talking to neighbors about city
projects.”

“I really enjoyed NNO at East Side Park! I got to all of the fish (I love frying fish) and work the event with the organizers. It was an honor.”
--- Ben Holder, District 1 candidate for City Council

“The Sterling Watch celebrated its first formal NNO celebration by participating in the 26th Annual NNO. Officer Coates and Officer Puckett with the High Point Police Department were among the guest who spoke to residents. A prayer of encouragement opened the ceremony and refreshments were served. Neighbors and guests shared experiences, words of encouragement and offered suggestions for working together with Police to help keep our community safe, prevent crime and other illegal or dangerous activities.”

“The Sterling Watch would like to thank High Point's Greensboro Road - Christ Presbyterian Church and Holy Cross Orthodox Church for its support. The Group would also like to thank the Brian Jordan Food Lion and the E. Parris Avenue Sonic for their sponsorship. Many thanks to the neighborhood residents who participated and volunteered in this event to make it a success.’
