Mediate to play in Wyndham Championship
Rocco Mediate, a two-time winner here, will play in next month’s Wyndham Championship, tournament officials said.
Mediate has long been a fan favorite in Greensboro, but even more so after extending Tiger Woods to a playoff at last year’s U.S. Open at Torrey Pines South.
Mediate was scheduled to play in last year’s Wyndham at Sedgefield Country Club but withdrew the week before citing fatigue.
Mediate joins U.S. Open winner Lucas Glover, Davis Love III, David Toms, John Daly and Brian Gay among those who who have committed to pay the Wyndham. The tournament will be held Aug. 19-23.
