GREENSBORO — The 2008 Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year were among the 24 players named to the preseason All-ACC football team.
Media members attending the 2009 ACC Football Kickoff cast 44 ballots for the teams.
Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer led all candidates with 41 votes. Dwyer is seeking to become the league’s first two-time Player of the Year since 1992 and 1993.
C.J. Spiller of Clemson appears twice on the team — he is Dwyer’s running mate in the backfield, and he is the media’s choice at return specialist.
N.C. State’s Russell Wilson, the 2008 Rookie of the Year, was the leading vote-getter among quarterbacks.
Virginia Tech, the defending ACC champion, had more players (four) on the preseason team than any other school.
Two teams had three players each: North Carolina and Georgia Tech.
