Public interest in sustainability and environmental stewardship has grown so strong both regionally and nationally that the News & Record found it important to provide daily and comprehensive coverage for residents of the Triad.

GoGreenTriad.com works to share with local people what they can do to better conserve energy and natural resources and reduce their exposure to environmental toxins.

The site also provides articles on what businesses, grass-roots groups and government agencies are doing to transform the Triad into a leader in energy resilience, food security and environmental stewardship.

For example, you can read about the Winston-Salem high school that hosted a green go-kart competition for area students, find a map of Greensboro recycling drop-off sites and learn the value of compostable products.

GoGreenTriad.com features the Green Notes blog, how-to and buying guides, videos, an e-mail newsletter, a list of organizations and a calendar of events. The News & Record plans to eventually incorporate a community discussion forum and directory of businesses into the site, as well.
