Wyndham picks up 4 commitments
GREENSBORO — Brian Gay, David Duval, Webb Simpson and Bill Haas have committed to play in the Wyndham Championship, tournament organizers said Wednesday.
The four join defending champion Carl Pettersson, U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover, Boo Weekley, David Toms, John Daly and Bubba Watson in the field. The Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Gay is currently eighth in the point standings. Duval finished tied for second in the 2009 U.S. Open. Simpson, an alumnus of Wake Forest, turned professional last year. Haas, also an alumnus of Wake Forest, finished third in the 2009 Valero Texas Open.
