GREENSBORO — Two men broke into a home early today and fired a shot at the resident, but fled when the resident won control of a gun.

Greensboro police said Keith Short, 41, woke up at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday to find two men in their 20s coming into his bedroom at 5251 Fox Hunt Drive.

Police said one of the men hit Short in the face with his fist and demanded money. When the suspects found no cash, they fired a shot at Short, missing him.

A struggle ensued, and police said Short wrestled a gun away from one of the suspects. The two men ran out the front door. Short suffered a minor unspecified injury.

Police had incomplete descriptions of the suspects. Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
