WINSTON-SALEM — Officials here are warning residents to be cautious after several bear sightings on the western edge of the city.
Several reports, including from Winston-Salem police officers, were received during a 24-hour period of a bear seen between Country Club and Robinhood roads, police said Sunday.
Police advise residents to avoid the animals and remove all sources of prospective food from outside of homes. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has been notified of the sightings.
