About a month ago, we all went to Columbus, Ohio, to my sister-in-law’s funeral. My two daughters, my granddaughter and I went out to eat at Waffle House for breakfast. When the waiter brought our breakfast we bowed our heads and said a prayer.
A man came over to our table. “Ladies,” he said, “today is your lucky day.”
He picked up our check. We were speechless. We didn’t know what was going on.
He brought the waiter to our table and said, “Do not leave a tip. I will pay that also.”
He asked if we knew why he was doing this. We said we didn’t.
“Because you pray before eating,” he said. We thanked him.
When we finished our meal, we looked around and he was gone. We had wanted to thank him again. He was our angel.
On the way home from the funeral, we stopped at White Castle for breakfast. I bowed my head and prayed.
My son said, “Mama, no one here is going to pay for your food. That just happens once in a lifetime.”
We all had a big laugh.

Times are tough for everyone. To be self-supporting, there are still people who must work more than one job. They face one stumbling block after another.
My brother is one of those people. His car is continuously breaking down, leaving him stranded with no means of transportation or money for repairs.
We prayed for a miracle, and it happened! A caring person heard of the need and gave him a car.
I felt I should share this and to thank that person for a kind and generous heart beyond our dreams. Thank you, Iris Gardner. You are an angel in disguise.
