A child was struck by a car Monday on Summit Avenue downtown, Greensboro police said.
The incident apparently took place about noon after the child, whose identity was not available, got off a bus near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Church Street. The child was conscious and alert, and the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, said Sgt. D.C. Webb of the Greensboro Police Department.
Skidmarks stretched from the intersection to the Nissan Sentra that sat in the middle of the road next to the Gate City car dealership. The car's driver sat on the edge of the sidewalk.
Information on any charges was not yet available.
