Greensboro College changed my life and made me the person I am today. In addition to my degree, I graduated in 2005 with a whole new set of life skills, including leadership abilities, a proficiency for critical thinking, and a keener sense of the world around me.
The college is now in a severe financial crisis, and many of my classmates and I are questioning how things got so far off track, and if the school will be able to survive. Since graduating, I have worked as a fundraiser for another college in Greensboro and learned much about how a school operates. A key role of any college president is to raise funds.
I firmly believe that Greensboro College is long overdue for a new president, and that if the board of trustees doesn’t step up and make a change, the school will not endure. To the board: You have a responsibility to faculty, staff, students and alumni to appoint a leader under whom the school can thrive. Please step up and do so before it is too late. We are counting on you.
