Regrets only

Friday, July 3, 2009

Since our City Council has set an example for our citizens by regretting the CWP/Klan-Nazi shootout (by an overwhelming vote of 5 to 4), I have been fretting over their regretting. In fact, I have never heard anyone say that they do not regret this shameful episode. Was their action necessary?

After much serious thought I have determined that regretting is probably a good thing! In order for all of our citizens to participate in regretting, I propose that our City Council set aside an annual Regret Day for this purpose. I also propose that Regret Day be a holiday.

It won’t happen — and I regret that, too!

Mr. Black, I suggest that you make your suggestion for "Regret Day" consideration to a City Council about 30 years from now. And it may, just may, be considered. But I doubt it. Because "the evil men do lives after them; the good is interred with their bones," does not apply, politically speaking, of course.

Regrets, we have a few, but then again, too many! Wait a minute isn't that a song Frank Sinatra sang?
Greensboro City Counsel it is time to " GET OVER IT " the world has moved on while YOU are still stuck in the PAST. Actually do something for the city besides trying to split it.
