Strader - Hughes

Lindsey Melia Strader and Joseph Howard Hughes were united in marriage Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Bella Luna at Villa Capriani Resort in Topsail Beach. Rev. Henry "Skip" Corbett, Sr. officiated. Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Bella Luna at Villa Capriani Resort. On Friday evening, the parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Indigo Marsh Restaurant. A bridal luncheon was held on May 2 on the patio at Sweet Basils Restaurant in Greensboro. The luncheon was hosted by the aunts of the bride, Patricia Jones of Reidsville, Linda Kilgariff of High Point, Linda Greene of Greensboro and Martha Stanfield of Chatham, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Malcolm Strader of Oak Ridge. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Malcolm Strader and Mrs. Beulah Evans Stanfield and the late Mr. Earl McKnight Stanfield, all of Reidsville. She is a graduate of Northwest High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. She was presented at the 2003 Greensboro Symphony Guild Ball.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howard Hughes of Greensboro. He is a graduate of Northwest High School and Western Carolina University with a degree in Finance.

The bride was attended by her sister, Landis S. Smith of Raleigh as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Stafford of Winston Salem, Kelly Smith of Raleigh, Michelle Clark of Greensboro, Kelsey Richards of Charlotte, Mia Andrews of Charlotte and Megan Snipes of Kernersville.

The groom chose his father, Robert Hughes, as best man. Groomsmen were Josh Hughes of Greensboro, brother of the groom, Chris Atkins of Greensboro, Brian Deutsch of Southport, Bryan Marshall of Greensboro, Micah Edquist of Misenheimer and Ted Pierce of Clemmons.

The children attendants were Dylan and Darla Apple of Reidsville, cousins of the bride, Malcolm Greene of Greensboro, cousin of the bride, and Robbie and Carly Hughes of Greensboro, nephew and niece of the groom.

The couple spent their honeymoon aboard a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and are residing in Greensboro
