Brittany Michelle Dixon and Daniel Gerard McLean were united in marriage Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 5:00 in the evening at Summerfield Baptist Temple with Pastor Rick Hamann and Rev. Rick Church officiating. The newlyweds departed the church in a horse drawn carriage after releasing two doves to represent their love.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Elaine Preston Dixon of Stokesdale and Mr. Thomas Jerome Dixon of Greensboro. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Pauline H. Preston and the late Mr. Cebron Preston of Stokesdale and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dixon of Summerfield. She is a 2004 graduate of Northwest High School and is employed by Rice Toyota.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby McLean of Greensboro. He is the grandson of Mr. Roy Auzine and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. McLean. He is a 2003 graduate of Northwest High School and is employed with Firestone Automotive in High Point.
Given in marriage by her father, Brittany chose her cousin, Miss Kelley Moore, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Holly Church, Miss Dominique Ricci, Miss Jaclyn Parrish and Miss Cydni Green. Miss Hope Trexler, special friend of the bride, served as flower girl.
Daniel chose Mr. Brandon Dixon, brother of the bride, as his best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers, Mr. Matthew McLean and Mr. Patrick McLean, Mr. Daniel Church and Mr. Jason Carter. Mr. Carson Preston, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Harmon House in Kernersville. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro.
Following a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will make their home in Greensboro.
