Greensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department celebrated its 75th anniversary with a festival Saturday at Country Park, the city’s first park.

In 1933 , the city created the Recreation Commission with a full-time director making $150 a month, according to the city.

The next year, the city opened Country Park, which had been purchased a decade earlier.

Saturday’s commemoration included children’s activities, music, a classic car show and more.
