CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Cody Arnoux scored three goals and assisted on another to lift the Carolina Dynamo to a 5-1 win over the West Virginia Chaos in PDL men's soccer Thursday night at Schoenbaum Stadium.

The Dynamo (6-3-2) moved into a virtual tie with Cary and Reading for first place in the Mid-Atlantic Division. West Virginia dropped to 2-6-3.

Arnoux, a rising senior at Wake Forest and a finalist for the Hermann Award last fall, accumulated a career-high seven points for the Dynamo.

"He just has a knack for the goal," Dynamo general manager Scott Zapko said. "He always finds himself in the right spot at the right time."

Arnoux and the Dynamo opened the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute. Caro Oklomah scored Carolina's second goal in the 26th minute.

West Virginia cut the deficit to 2-1 a minute later on Adam Arthur's goal.

The Dynamo scored three second-half goals to put the game out of reach. Arnoux scored in the 45th minute, then scored again in the 72nd minute. Teammate Chris Lebo closed out the scoring in the 81st minute.

"In the second half, we just turned it on," Zapko said.

The Dynamo, winners of three straight, will host Virginia on Saturday at BB&T Park in Winston-Salem.

"We're actually getting some cohesion in our lineup," Zapko said. "Earlier, we were missing players to things like weddings and stuff like that. But we're putting one of our better lineups together now."
