FIRST TEAM
Lindsey Nusdeo, MF, Sr., Western Guilford: The four-year starter capped a stellar career for the Hornets with 17 goals and 19 assists this season. "A competitive beast," head coach George Kennedy said.
Claire O'Keeffe, F, Sr., Western Guilford: Her 27 goals and 24 assists made her one of the most prolific scorers in the state. "She has a variety of technical repartee," head coach George Kennedy said. "She can surprise the opponent with some unpredictability." She'll play for Elon this fall.
Sarah Uffman, MF, Jr., Southeast Guilford: A three-time All-Mid-Piedmont 3-A choice, she scored in every game this season from the midfield, finishing with 23 goals and 12 assists.
Alex Kubrick, GK, Jr., Ragsdale: An all-conference, region and state selection, "her focus on the pitch is unparalleled," head coach Brien Braswell said. "She was the difference maker for her team this season." Signed with UNC-Charlotte.
Ruthie Lile, MF, Sr., Ragsdale: Appalachian State-bound offensive dynamo "has amazing passion for the game," head coach Brien Braswell said. "She's a very creative player on and off the ball and makes others better around her."
Bess Goodman, F, Sr., Grimsley: A four-year starter; she repeated as an All-State selection this season after posting five goals and eight assists. She was selected to play in the NCCA East-West All-Star game and the NC-SC All-Star game this summer and has signed with Sewanee.
Lauren DuPont, D, Jr., Grimsley: All-State defender "is highly intelligent and reads the game very well," head coach Herk DeGraw said. "That intelligence combined with her speed and technical ability makes her a force at the back."
Carson Williams, D, Jr. East Forsyth: Metro 4-A co-player of the year earned all-conference honors for a third time and was also an all-state honoree.
Taylor Dulaney, MF, Jr., East Forsyth: She's "the blue collar worker/engine of the team," head coach Chad Lorentz said. An all-region selection, she has verbally committed to UNC-Charlotte.
Jennifer McGorty, F, Jr., Northwest Guilford: She earned All-Metro 4-A honors for a third straight season after scoring a team-leading 18 goals.
Christin Newman, D, Sr., Page: Head coach Zack Osbourne said the 2008 News & Record Player of the Year is one of the 10 best he's coached in 30 years. The co-Metro 4-A player of the year earned All-State honors for a third time and anchored a defense that allowed eight goals in 22 games. Osbourne: "She missed one practice all year -- she was coming back from a tennis tournament in Tampa and was calling me every two hours from the highway thinking she could make it. Most girls wouldn't have even called."
SECOND TEAM
Caroline Strong, D, Jr., Greensboro Day: "A dominating presence" for the PACIS champ Bengals, Strong earned All-State honors from the NCISAA and NCSCA. Head coach Kim Burroughs: "She has great speed and vision and is dominant in the air. She is crucial to the Bengals' success not only when defending set pieces but when attacking as well."
Jessi Gulledge, MF, Sr., Ragsdale: She fractured her foot midway through the season but still stuck with the team. An All-Conference and All-Region choice, she plans to attend UNCG and play soccer.
Cissy Nitz, D, Sr., Bishop McGuinness: An All-State honoree, she's the reigning Northwest 1-A player of the year and a record-breaking track star to boot. She'll attend Campbell on a soccer scholarship.
Kate Lamar, D/MF, Jr., Southwest Guilford: An all-state selection whom head coach Andres Schroeder calls "the most talented player on our team," she had seven goals and seven assists this season. "She is a true competitor who carries all the tools to play soccer at the next level," Schroeder said.
Michelle Casserman, D, Jr., Southwest Guilford: An all-conference and all-region choice, she posted eight goals and five assists for the Cowgirls. "She plays every game as if it was her last," head coach Andres Schroeder said.
Chelsea Brewer, GK, Sr., Southwest Guilford: She defended as Piedmont Triad 3-A keeper of the year after shutting out five of eight conference opponents. Her penalty kick saves helped propel the Cowgirls through the opening rounds of the playoffs.
Ashlyn Hardie, GK, Soph., Northern Guilford: She shut out 10 opponents and made 150 saves in earning All-Region honors for a second straight season. "She leads by example," head coach Andrew Hultberg said. "Ashlyn is always working hard to improve her game and during the game she always plays with intensity."
Erin Cable, GK, Sr., Northeast Guilford: Despite a whole new crew of defenders in front of her, Cable posted 12 shutouts and was named Triad 3-A keeper of the year for the third time in four seasons. An All-Region honoree, she'll play in the East/West All-Star Game this summer. "While she is not a tall keeper," head coach Jim Pielow said, "she is a big player in big games."
Alexi Saganich, F, Jr., Northeast Guilford: Her move from center midfield to forward coincided with an eight-game win streak and a run to the state quarterfinals. She finished with 10 goals and nine assists in her third straight All-Triad 3-A campaign. "Alexi is the threat on our team," head coach Jim Pielow said.
Becca Loggins, F, Sr., Caldwell: She posted nine goals and seven assists this season to give her 33 and 19 for her career. She's an NCISAA All-State selection and a two-time All-TAC honoree.
Meg Kiser, F, Jr., Greensboro Day: A versatile offensive weapon, she posted 11 goals and three assists en route to NCISAA all-state honors.
