My daughter and I went to the Friends of the Library book sale on May 2. We got there early. Each of us picked out some books to buy. When we got up to the lady who takes the little slip of paper so we can pay, she told us “It’s been taken care of ... you don’t owe anything.”
I am afraid I was in such shock I didn’t say a proper “thank you!” I don’t know if the person who took care of it was around. We were so excited! I am praying that whoever they were, they read this to know how happy that made us. We love books, and it was nice to have that money to get more books. Thank you!

As we teachers finish up the school year, I am reminded of a kindness I received on a daily basis at New Market Elementary in Randolph County.
As an itinerant gifted education teacher, I served one school each morning and the other each afternoon.
This entailed transporting materials, sometimes a lot of materials, between locations. Each morning when I arrived at my first school, I found my “favorite” parking space (the one closest to my classroom) open, even if other teachers were there before me. Thank you, kind colleagues, for helping me in this way.
