GREENSBORO - A Greensboro man was arrested Thursday after police said he stole diapers and baby clothes from an area store and led officers on a high-speed chase.
Michael Anthony Maberson, 40, of 3705 Phillips Park Drive, was arrested by Greensboro police, according to arrest warrants.
Warrants state that about 2 a.m., Maberson allegedly broke into the Family Dollar at 1431 E. Cone Blvd. and stole the items, valued at about $50.
Officers spotted Maberson driving in a Honda Accord leaving the scene and attempted to pull him over. He refused and led officers on a short chase.
In the process, warrants state Maberson struck three police cruisers with his vehicle while attempting to run officers off the road.
Officers were able to stop him near the 200 block of Lowdermilk St., where a foot-chase ensued before he was caught and arrested, warrants stated.
Maberson was charged with breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, felony conspiracy, felony hit and run, fleeting to elude arrest, resisting a public officer and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
He was being held at the Guilford County jail in Greensboro Thursday night on a $30,000 bond.
