GIBSONVILLE -- The Board of Aldermen will meet for a special budget workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall.

Mayor Lenny Williams called for the meeting because he wants the board to trim the budget. The town staff’s proposed budget is $7.6 million, up 9 percent from last year’s approved budget.

“I’m really concerned about the number of capital expenditures,” Williams said.

He said he hopes that the board will finish working out the budget at the meeting.
