HIGH POINT – Two people were bitten in a dog attack Wednesday afternoon in High Point.

Police were called to 523 Flint Ave. shortly after 1 p.m. after reports that two people had been bitten by several dogs.

Police arrived to find that two people had tried to separate two mixed-breed dogs that were “joined together” and were bitten after the dogs became irritated, according to a news release.

Jennifer Murphy Baldwin, 39, suffered several serious bite and puncture wounds.

The other owner, Thomas Howard Roy Jr., 24, received several puncture wounds.

Both victims were taken to High Point Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The dogs were seized by animal control officers and taken to the Guilford County Animal Shelter.

Police said the incident is being investigated to determine whether charges will be filed.

What a sad situation (for the dogs). I just hope that animal control chooses to do what's right in this situation and allow the dogs to live. In many cases, dogs are euthanized without question if they bite. This situation needs to be looked at carefully and with thought. The story does not indicate whether the ones bitten were owners or not, but had these dogs been under the care of RESPONSIBLE pet owners that spayed/neutered their pets then this unfortunate situation may not have occurred. In addition, the two adults should have not been stupid enough to try to seperate two dogs that were locked up. That's just asking for it in my opinion.

Who would try to seperate by hands two dogs getting some action? That was stupid on their part. I hope they don't put the dogs to sleep. So sad

How long were their leashes? Or, unlike Greensboro, does High Point have no leash law?

Fine the owners, don't kill the dogs.
