LIFE

One-of-a-kind mom

This a special thanks to Sheila Clark from her daughters and husband.

Sheila is a one-of-a-kind mom who puts nothing ahead of family. She will do without, just to make sure we don’t have to.

Carrie Anne, who is 18 and developmetally delayed, has had many, many surgeries at Duke and other hospitals, and Sheila has been by her side through each and every one.

After many failed attempts at mainstreaming Carrie in public school, Guilford County told us they had nothing to offer Carrie due to her unique disabilities. Sheila took it upon herself to set up a home school and continues to this day teaching Carrie and helping her to become independent and more confident in herself.

Through all this, she somehow managed to also be there for Amber and to keep a sense of normalcy in her life to help her become the wonderful person she is today.

Thanks, Sheila, for all the love you’ve shone us and for always being there for us. We love you.

Happy Mother’s Day!
