My name is Mia Compton, and I’m incarcerated at Southern Correctional Institution.
My mother, Barbara Summers, is a very strong and beautiful woman. I’m blessed to have her as my mother.
During this period in my life, she has been there through it all, she’s took on the responsibility of raising my daughter, and is doing an excellent job.
My daughter and myself are blessed to have this wonderful woman in our lives. She’s our protector, provider, and our angel on earth.
I know that when I got into this trouble, I beat myself up 'cause my mother didn’t deserve this, she raised me as a single parent from the age of 10 years old and gave me nothing but a good life, she worked two and three jobs to provide me with nothing but the best. I should’ve shown her that the way she raised me would’ve never put me in a place like this.
If I had to do it all again, I would listen to everything she tells me, even when I think that she don’t know what she’s talking about.
You’re an awesome woman mama. I love you, Happy Mother’s Day from Mia and Taqueshia Compton.
Mia Compton, Troy
