GREENSBORO — Police are investigating an assault that occurred inside a downtown night club between a patron and a bouncer.
Officers were sent at 1:45 a.m. to Inferno at 212 S. Elm St., according to a news release from police.
Travis Wayne Hedrick, 23, had been assaulted inside the club and was taken to the hospital.
Hedrick was in the basement of the club when he became involved in an altercation with a bouncer that resulted in injuries, said Police Chief Tim Bellamy.
He would not elaborate on the nature of Hedrick’s injuries beyond saying they were serious.
He said Hedrick remains at Moses Cone Hospital, though hospital officials said he was not listed on their roster Thursday night.
Patients can request medical status, including whether they are patients at the hospital, not be released.
No arrest has been made, and police continue to investigate. Other details were not immediately available.
Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000 or the Criminal Investigation Division at 373-2255.
