BURLINGTON — An 18-year-old died in a crash early Sunday in Alamance County when his pickup truck hit a retaining wall.

The Highway Patrol identified the victim as Ramsey Luke Seamster. His obituary says he was a senior at Western Alamance High School.

According to the Highway Patrol, Seamster was driving south at 1:41 a.m. on N.C. 62 in the Glencoe community north of Burlington when his 1981 Chevrolet pickup truck ran off the road to the right, hit a concrete wall and overturned.

The Highway Patrol blamed the crash on excessive speed. Seamster was wearing a seat belt. No other vehicles were involved, and no one else was in the truck.
