GREENSBORO — More charges were filed Thursday against two people accused of murder in the March death of a 4-year-old girl in their care.

Tonya Dobson Williams and her fiancée, Anthony Ravon Duncan, both of 1405 Caldwell St., are each facing two counts of intentional child abuse, according to arrest warrants. The new charges involve other children in their care

Williams and Duncan previously were charged with first-degree murder in the March 18 death of Kali Martin.

On March 17, police were called to the Caldwell Street home on a report that a child, Kali, was not breathing. Kali was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where she later died. Her death was classified as a homicide, and police arrested the couple two weeks later in Winston-Salem.

Kali, along with a brother and a sister, had been in Williams’ care since August because their mother, Shannon Martin, was serving time in prison.

Warrants related to the new charges state that Williams and Duncan caused permanent scarring to the buttocks of two girls, ages 12 and 13, who were in their care from June 2008 through March.

Williams and Duncan were each given a $200,000 bond on the new charges. However, both are being held without bond on first-degree murder charges in Kali’s death.

I'm sorry to say it but these two deserve the death penalty, so they can never harm another child. There is no excuse what so ever for what they done. If the judge has any compassion and the jury has any compassion they will seek the death penalty. These two wasted their lives hurt the other two daughters and murdered the baby. There is no reason the people of North Carolina, should have to pay for these two to live. They are not worthy of our compassion, there is no reason for them to be allowed to take up space. They chose their fate, let them die with it.
