GREENSBORO – More charges were filed Tuesday against a Greensboro man accused of several break-ins of homes in the Irving Park neighborhood that police say resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars in property.

Stephen Neal Trotter Jr., 35, was arrested by Greensboro police around 5:30 p.m. following a search along Landmark Center Drive, according to police.

Trotter was charged in connection with the theft of a Jeep Grand Cherokee from Honest Engines on March 28 as well as in a break-in at a home on Buckingham Road the same day, according to arrest warrants.

In the break-in, Trotter is accused of stealing a computer and gate latch valued at more than $2,000 in addition to damaging a door to gain entry, warrants state.

On April 3, police charged Trotter in connection with multiple Irving Park break-ins in late March that included the theft of fine jewelry, electronics, traveler’s checks and rare coins. Greensboro police Capt. Janice Rogers estimated the stolen items were valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In those cases, he was charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering; larceny; possession of stolen property; felony larceny; larceny, larceny of stolen action (checks) and breaking and entering of an automobile.

He was released Monday after posting a $100,000 bond, before getting arrested again on Tuesday afternoon.

The new charges include larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and damage to real property.

He is being held at the Guilford County jail in Greensboro on a $50,000 bond.

Police have said their investigation is ongoing.
