HIGH POINT -  No charges have been filed in a reported rape involving two Southwest High School students, but police are continuing to investigate, officials said Saturday.

High Point police Capt. Cherie Maness said a 15-year-old girl reported that she had been raped by a 16-year-old boy on the school campus about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Guilford County school board member Garth Hebert said one of the school’s video cameras captured the teens outside of the school building.

Hebert said that despite the reported rape, Southwest High School remains a safe place.

“It’s not an unsafe campus at all. I have a son there,” he said Saturday.

Despite the reported rape, SWHS remains a safe place? It's not unsafe? My son goes there? Some people don't know when to just keep thier comments to themselves.

jsipe29, my thoughts exactly! Amazing there aren't more comments on this alleged rape. Do you think the News-Record diliberately makes this site very difficult and slow to access, so that viewers will just "give up"?

There was no crime committed, I have two children at the school. Please review all material before you make a hasty judgment. I am very confident just as Capt. Maness, and yes, it is a safe school!!! The media likes to report half of the information. From what I have followed, read and know, this incident could have been worst.... Please people, before you condemn something know the facts....
