Experience Greensboro, which introduces residents to the ins and outs of Greensboro, will be offered by the Chamber of Commerce April 29 through June 10.
The six-week program meets on consecutive Wednesdays.
Each week, participants will learn about the history, economic development, health and human services, local government, arts, and recreation in Greensboro.
The program also provides residents with an inside look into the community’s key issues and problems and the leaders involved in decision making.
“I liked that the movers and shakers were right in front of me,” former participant Lynn Harvey-Akan said. “They were easily accessible for information sharing.”
“The program is like a freshman orientation of sorts,” said Rob Clapper, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce president.
Participants visit locations linked to the subject of the week.
Experience Greensboro is also a networking opportunity.
“The program helped me to get my current position (account manager) at WFDD, Triad arts radio,” Harvey-Akan said.
“Experience Greensboro is an opportunity for people to get connected to and learn about the things they may not be aware of,” said Joyce Gorham-Worlsey, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce vice president.
