GREENSBORO – A teenager was arrested and charged Friday mere hours after police said he robbed and stabbed a man in a southwest Greensboro home.
Police responded to 1812 Willomore St. at 7:40 p.m. to find 32-year-old Dexter Mills with stab wounds to the lower back, according to arrest warrants.
Mills was rushed to Moses Cone Hospital where he remained hospitalized late Friday for what police called non-life threatening injuries, according Lt. Karen Walters of the Greensboro Police Department.
Walters said a man forced his way into Mills’ home attacking and stabbing him before robbing him.
Police received a witness description from Mills and several witnesses who all recognized the suspect seen running away from the scene, Walters said.
Hours later, officers arrested 17-year-old Corey Ryan McNeil of 2021 Lynette Dr. in connection with the crime, according to arrest warrants.
Warrants state McNeil is accused of stabbing Mills, pointing a handgun at him and robbing him of $95.
McNeil was charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing a gun and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He was booked into the Guilford County jail in Greensboro on a $150,000 bond.
