(Updated 11:48 pm)

The Easter Bunny arrives early in Rockingham County this weekend.

A special Easter egg hunt will take place Saturday at Rolling Ridge Riding in Reidsville with horseback riding and Sheriff Sam Page. The sheriff will search out the hiding Easter Bunny and bring her back on horseback. A coloring contest, silent auction, horseback rides and egg hunt are planned. For a minimum cost you help the organization provide free therapy on horseback for children with disabilities.

Also on Saturday, a benefit concert is planned for Freedom Park in Eden. This concert features Piedmont Triad Wind Ensemble and Michael Ken. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, a picnic if you desire, soak up some glorious sunshine and enjoy the concert to benefit the Joey Mize Memorial Fund for Special Needs Children and funeral costs for Joey.

And in the western part of the county on Saturday afternoon, an Easter egg hunt for children 10 and under is planned at Farris Memorial Park in Mayodan. The Madison-Mayodan Recreation Department and First Bank of Mayodan invite you to bring the children and their Easter baskets and hunt for those special eggs.
