N.C. A&T's Super Saturday festivities today have been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather. However, the Aggies' annual spring football game will go on as scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Tailgating will be available on the asphalt at Aggie Stadium. No determination has been made about the Aggies' softball game at 1 p.m. The Aggies tennis team will play at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center in Greensboro at 3:30 p.m.

BASEBALL

NO. 5 NORTH CAROLINA 4, NO. 8 VIRGINIA 3: Mike Cavasinni's two-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted North Carolina.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN 7, ELON 6: Georgia Southern (18-5, 4-1 SoCon) snapped a five-game losing skid to Elon (12-8, 6-4). Bennett Davis, Mike Melillo and Chase Austin had two hits for Elon.

SOFTBALL

UNCG: UNCG's home doubleheader with Appalachian State today has been moved from 1 p.m. to noon.

TRACK AND FIELD

RALEIGH RELAYS: Elon continued its outdoor success during the first day of the Raleigh Relays. Freshman Amy Salek and sophomore Emily Fournier broke school records in the 400-meter dash and the 5,000-meter run. Also, junior thrower Mike Schallmo broke the Duke record in the discus, and UNCG's men's and women's 4x1500-meter relay teams were the top performers for the Spartans.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

GREENSBORO COLLEGE SWEEPS: Greensboro College won four of six singles matches en route to a 5-4 win over Lynchburg College at Randolph College. GC also defeated Randolph 5-3.

ARCHERY

ARCHERY SHOOT: The Stick & Wheel Archery Club will host the Breast Cancer Awareness and Academy of Finance Archery Shoot on April 18 in Colfax. The event starts at 8 a.m. The cost is $5 per shooter. Proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation and the East Davidson High Academy of Finance.
