HIGH POINT — A youth pastor faces 19 more sex-related crimes stemming from his alleged involvement with a 14-year-old girl.
High Point police said Benjamin Douglas Caldwell, 29, is being held in the Guilford County jail in High Point on a bond of $1 million.
Caldwell, of 1310 Coventry Drive, was a youth pastor and athletics director at Hayworth Christian School.
Caldwell was arrested Thursday after police got a 911 call from the victim's residence. Police later said that the sexual offenses involving a 14-year-old girl had taken place over the past three months. Police did not identify the victim or where the victim lived.
Caldwell was charged last week with six counts of statutory rape, three counts of statutory sex offense and eight counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor. He was later released on a $100,000 bond.
On Monday, he was charged with 17 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, one count of statutory rape and one count of statutory sex offense.
