Grab the one you love and celebrate this weekend with a visit to Chinqua Penn Plantation. The plantation is hosting "Valentine's Chocolate and Wine Pairings" each afternoon through Saturday. Enjoy fabulous chocolates paired with the red wines of the plantation. And while you are there, take a tour of the mansion for a reduced price offered only to Rockingham County residents during February.
On Saturday, Speedwell Presbyterian Church in Reidsville invites you to "Heat up your Valentine" with its Chili Cook-off. Taste all the samples and see which one is you favorite. And if you really want to be bold, enter your own chili for judging. The evening will include entertainment by Steve and Will Hopper of the original Hopper Brothers & Connie. Sounds like an evening of fun.
And one more item worth mentioning: The American Red Cross has issued a bulletin asking for sponsors of blood drives and blood donations from our community. Sponsor a blood drive through your employer or church and help replenish the supply of blood. Or take an hour out of your day and give the gift of life.
