Greensboro native Jason Frahm's goal was to mix his love of music with fashion. The end result is Velicious Equenzi, a new men's and women's clothing story in downtown Greensboro.
The store carries Frahm's original graphic designs featured on long- and short-sleeve T-shirts, tops and sweatshirts. The shop at 327 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive also carries the denim jeans brand Sassy Thai.
Frahm, who is self-taught, designs each piece of clothing with either the store's name or the logo VE or VE3 to echo the store's slogan, "Live, Love, Evolve."
"Live means to be outgoing and to have fun; love is giving back to people in the community; and evolve is the positive evolution of music," Frahm said in a news release. "I have always thought that music and fashion compliment each other."
Frahm's Velicious Equenzi line is also available online at www.vebrand.com.

The Greensboro Children's Museum and Barnes & Noble are teaming up to raise money for the museum.
The bookstore in Friendly Shopping Center will donate a portion of all sales on Jan. 17 to the museum. Customers need to present a voucher at the Barnes & Noble cash register when the sale is made for the donation to count.
To get the voucher, go to www.gcmuseum.com and click on Barnes and Noble Bookfair under Upcoming Events. This will take you to a link to print the voucher.
Barnes & Noble also will have children's programming featuring "Freckles" the dog, the songs of Big Bang Boom and special story times from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

And a final note: Today's column will be my last as the News & Record's Savvy Shopper. After more than five years with the News & Record, I've turned in my press pass to accept a writing position at UNCG.
But I leave you in good, money-saving hands.
Mike Fuchs, the author of the News & Record's Bargain Blog and Bargain Bytes e-newsletter, will pick up the Savvy Shopper newspaper column.
His penny-pinching ways date back to his teen years, when he took Circuit City up on their promise to return the difference plus 10 percent if he found a lower price elsewhere. He got his money back from Circuit City and has been looking for ways to save ever since.
In April 2005, Mike started chronicling the best deals on everything from steaks to golf clubs on the Bargain Blog. Be sure to check him out there and on Facebook. And don't forget to sign up for his Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/bargainblog.
Savvy Shoppers unite on the Web! Connect with Mike Fuchs, the new Savvy Shopper columnist, at twitter.com/bargainblog, on Facebook or go talk shopping on the Bargain Blog at news-record.com.
