Kiplinger's ranks 4 N.C. schools among best values

RALEIGH (AP) - Four colleges in North Carolina are ranked among the country's best values in private higher education.

Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine on Wednesday issued its annual ranking of the 100 best private universities and liberal arts colleges that combine "outstanding economic value with exceptional education."

Davidson College is ranked No. 4 among liberal arts schools.

Among universities, Duke University in Durham is ranked No. 5, while Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem is listed at No. 20 and Elon University is No. 29.

The California Institute of Technology took the No. 1 ranking among private universities for the third straight year. Pomona College in California was ranked the top private liberal arts school.
