GREENSBORO - Brinks Inc. is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed a guard outside Old Navy last month, Greensboro police said today.
Juan Esteban Salado, 25, was shot Dec. 15 in a robbery outside the store at Friendly Center at 3000 Northline Ave. Salado, an armored truck guard with Brinks, was shot about 10 a.m. in an ambush-style robbery after picking up bags containing bank deposits.
Police said a man in hospital scrubs and dressed as a woman went into the business and waited for the armored truck to show up. The suspect then shot Salado in the head before fleeing to a vehicle waiting nearby.
Police said in a news release today that they continue to follow leads.
In addition to the reward from Brinks, Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000.
Police ask anyone with information on this crime to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
The suspect is described as a black man, about 6-feet 1-inch tall with a muscular build, slight goatee, wearing sunglasses, a shoulder length wig, aqua colored scrub-type pants and a multi-colored top. The suspect fled the store carrying the Brinks money bag in the direction of the Exxon Station located at the corner of Northline Avenue and Green Valley Road. The suspect entered a dark colored vehicle and fled.
