A Randolph County teen is charged with DWI, three counts of felony hit and run and other charges after driving her car into the scene of a wreck Sunday, injuring two Greensboro firefighters and a pedestrian.

Kristin Nicole Spires, 16, of Randleman was released to her mother, Betty Adkins of Randleman.

She is expected to keep a 7 p.m. curfew, obey all laws and any other restrictions placed by her mother.

Firefighters J.N. Harvey and L.D. Boone suffered minor injuries when they were struck at the intersection of Creekridge and Randleman roads, according to a fire department news release.

According to warrants, the firefighters were responding to an accident where drunken drivers and their passengers were injured. The warrants also said that Spires' half brother was killed in a drunken driving accident last week.

The release said that Spires ignored emergency lights, road flares and police officers.

The car made contact with another vehicle and kept going before it was stopped by police a short distance later.

The firefighters were taken to Moses Cone Hospital.

Harvey was treated and released and returned to duty. Boone was treated and released but did not return to duty. Both firefighters are expected to make a full recovery.

No injury information was available for the pedestrian, Shriele Danelle Cooper of Greensboro.
