GIRLS SEMIFINAL

NO. 3 RAGSDALE 36, NO. 2 PAGE 30: Ragsdale head coach Jerry Fuqua said he's seen a few starstruck eyes from his players, who are in the Pizza Hut Invitational for the first time.

They're sure fooling their opponents.

Lisa Archie scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds as the Tigers avenged a three-point loss to Page in early December with a 36-30 win in Friday's semifinal.

The Tigers trailed 10-6 after one quarter but took control when they switched to a zone defense after a Page run in the second. The Pirates managed just three points in the third quarter.

"It seemed to frustrate them a little bit," Fuqua said.

Chevena Pickard led Page with 16 points but shot 5-of-17 from the field and 1-of-8 from 3-point range. The Pirates shot 19.6 percent (9-of-41).

Ragsdale (9-4) -- Lisa Archie 12; Courtney Arrington 10; Dorian McInnis 7; Kaitlyn Harrison 4; Charise Nelson 3.

Page (6-6) -- Chevena Pickard 16; Portia Oakley 5; Ashley Fowler 5; Brittany Drew 4.

GIRLS CONSOLATION

NO. 5 NORTHEAST GUILFORD 51, NO. 8 GREENSBORO DAY 24: Rashida Pugh scored 26 points, the highest single-game mark in the tournament thus far, to lead the Rams into today's fifth-place game.

Pugh, a junior, hit 11-of-16 shots, including 4-of-6 3-pointers, and outscored the Bengals by herself for both the first half and the game. Cherie Bullock added six points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Rams, who opened the game on a 12-2 run. Kristin Rush led GDS with 14 points.

NO. 7 SMITH 56, NO. 6 NORTHERN GUILFORD 52 (OT): Smith's Lakendra Wilkerson usually wears two knee-high white socks on gamedays, but she opted for one green and one white instead Friday. After the Golden Eagles registered their first win of the season, will the change stick?

"Oh yeah," said Wilkerson, who scored 13 points. "It feels good to win."

Ashly Dubose had 12 points and nine assists for Smith, which scored the first nine points in overtime then held on as Northern scored six points in 10 seconds.
