Greensboro's Glen Long, a 17-year-old member of the Triangle United Gold, is one of 17 soccer players named to Disney's Soccer Showcase All-Star team.

The team, comprised of at least one player from each team in the under-17 boys showcase bracket, has been invited by Chelsea of the English Premier League to train and compete against top professional clubs at Chelsea's facilities near London in August.

Players were selected based on their performances at Disney's Soccer Showcase, which is regarded as the premier youth soccer tournament in the U.S. The showcase features more than 400 teams and draws nearly 700 NCAA soccer coaches.

Two other North Carolinians were named to the team: 16-year-old James Williams of Raleigh and 16-year-old German Mendoza of Durham.

UNC: Season ticket renewals for North Carolina's 2009 home football games will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. Prices remained unchanged from 2008. Last season, Carolina sold out of season football tickets and expects to do so again in 2009.

The cost for Rams Club members and 2008 UNC season ticket holders is $280 through Feb. 28 Season tickets ordered during this early period carry the same $40 per game price as the previous two seasons.

Beginning March 1, season ticket renewals and new season tickets will be available for $315 each.

The 2009 home schedule consists of seven home games against Duke, Miami, Virginia, Florida State, East Carolina, The Citadel and a yet-to-be named opponent.
