Man faces sex offense charges involving teen
A 35-year-old Davidson County man faces charges including taking indecent liberties with a teenager, the sheriff's office said today.
Melvin Matthew Bolen of 217 N. Mohawk Drive engaged in sex acts with a 15-year-old from June to July, according to the Davidson County's Sheriff's Office.
He was charged with five counts of statutory sex offense and three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Some of those offenses occurred in Winston-Salem, the sheriff's office said.
His court date was set for Jan. 12.
He was being held under a $400,000 secured bond in Davidson County. He also had a $100,000 secured bond in Forsyth County.
Bolen turned himself into the Winston Salem Police Department on Dec. 23.
