Randleman man held in assaults on 3 girls

GREENSBORO - A Randleman man has been charged with nine sexual offenses in connection with assaults on three young girls.

Kenny Lewis Smith, 32, of 7314 Sycamore Drive, Randleman, was arrested Monday and held in lieu of $700,000 bond.

According to court records, Smith is accused of abusing the girls from June 2004 until August 2007.

Two of the girls were younger than 13 years old and one of the girls was younger than 16 years old at the time of the offenses, according to police.

Smith was charged with five counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of first-degree sexual offense with a child and two counts of first-degree rape of a child.

Smith was employed by Lawn Doctor, according to police.

In the past, Smith has been charged with a number of crimes connected to drugs, larceny and breaking and entering, in incidents going back 14 years.
