Talk about sticking to a resolution.

Grayling Hardy of Greensboro told friends and family he'd win the Powerball before the end of the year.

He did just that on Dec. 17 after his ticket matched all five numbers in the Powerball drawing to win $200,000.

The numbers were 7, 11, 18, 24 and 30.

Hardy claimed his winnings on Christmas Eve.

He told the North Carolina Education Lottery he's still thinking about what to do with his winnings.

He bought the ticket at the Quick Shop at 3700-A Spring Garden St. in Greensboro.

It marked the second time since November that someone from Greensboro won $200,000 in the Powerball drawing.

James Lewis bought a winning $200,000 Powerball ticket at the lottery's Greensboro regional office on Farmington Drive.

Hardy did not exactly "win the Powerball". He won "only" $200,000. He missed the red Powerball number. There are SIX numbers drawn; five white balls, and the red Powerball. Even with the changes coming with Florida on board, Powerball will continue to be a SIX-number game. (The red Powerball number he missed on should have been part of this story.)
