Operation Greensboro Cares

What: Operation Greensboro Cares is a local emergency relief fund for the growing demand for food and shelter, with dispersements to nonprofits working with people in need.
When: Active campaign through Dec. 24 (although the fund will collect donations throughout the winter months)
How you can help: Make tax-deductible donations at Operation Greensboro Care's Web site. Or send checks to "Operation Greensboro Care," P.O. Box 14985 Greensboro, N.C. 27405. Number is 378-6600. Those who want to help locally through volunteering are encouraged to contact the Volunteer Center of Greensboro at 373-1633.
