Update: Press Wine Cafe closing? Not so fast
After two years of educating patrons on the finer points of wine and providing downtown Greensboro with a live acoustic and jazz music venue, it seemed that The Press Wine Cafe (301 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) in the Southside community was to close Sunday.
But after an e-mail from co-owner Mike Hamuka went out this morning to subscribers of a newsletter for The Press, a "local business owner" stepped forward and offered to take over the struggling restaurant, according to a subsequent e-mail issued by Hamuka this afternoon.
In the e-mail, Hamuka says the details are still being worked out and an official word could come as early as Monday.
