Italian restaurant opens in Kernersville
Chef Scott Leard has opened Basil's Trattoria at 800-H N. Main St. in Kernersville.
Leard knows his Italian, being a veteran of Giovanni's and Carmine's Restaurant, both in Greensboro. He offers soups, salads and Italian subs for lunch in a $5 to $10 price range. Dinner includes Italian classics such as Veal or Chicken Marsala, Chicken Picatta, Shrimp and Polenta and spaghetti and "fist-sized" meatballs. Dinner prices range around $8 to $18.
All pastas are made in house and the menu changes frequently to keep things fresh.
The intimate, 36-seat restaurant offers beer and a wine list.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 310-4167.
