RALEIGH (AP) - Voting hours are being extended at one North Carolina polling place where ballots got stuck in a trunk.

State Board of Elections officials in Wake County said they would accept voters until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barwell Road Community Center in Raleigh.

Voting began about 30 minutes late Tuesday morning after an election judge saw her grandson drive away with the center's ballots in his car trunk.

The thousands of other precincts up and running on Election Day in North Carolina will close at 7:30 p.m.

The Durham County State Board of Elections also had planned to extend its voting time after a 20-minute power outage at Pearsontown Elementary School, but the state Board of Elections overturned the decision.
