BURLINGTON — A fire destroyed an outbuilding this morning in eastern Guilford County.
A passerby reported the fire at 7129 Shoe Road at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday Heavy smoke and fire was coming out of the storage shed when firefighters arrived. Firefighters from the Whitsett, Mount Hope, Alamance and McLeansville departments needed about five minutes to extinguish the blaze.
No injuries were reported, and no one was inside the storage building when the fire broke out, said Larry Moser, deputy chief of the Mount Hope Fire Department. The building appeared to be a total loss.
Firefighters do not yet know the cause of the blaze.
